Tribler Cottage has provided lodging on Monhegan Island since 1910. Tribler is located at the base of Lighthouse Hill, on the edge of the Meadow that forms the center of the village. It is about a five-minute walk from the wharf and a half-hour's walk along a woodland trail to one of the three sea-cliffs on Monhegan's eastern shore. Tribler is a social community that facilitates filesharing through a peer-to-peer (p2p) network. When the Tribler application program is started it will automatically start searching other users. We have resolved nearly every type of dispute imaginable since the firm’s founding over 25 years ago. Today, our focus remains on the following broad areas of practice.

Tribler is backwards compatible with the BitTorrent download protocol. To discover interesting content standard RSS feeds with .torrent links are supported plus the 'Tribe protocol' which automatically scans the network for available BitTorrent swarms upon startup. Tribler uses an embedded web browser to access video clips of Youtube.com and Liveleak.com. Other features are 'People who like this also like' for recommending related swarms, the ability to make friends, and to donate idle upload capacity to friends. The later can improve download speed by a factor of two on asymmetric Internet links. The fastest way of social file sharing.
